Two-channel NIR Fluorescence Detection

Get out of the Darkroom!

The Azure 500’s laser technology offers two IR detection channels for the ability to image more than one protein in an assay. The Azure 500 provides accurate and fast chemiluminescent detection, as well as the sensitivity, dynamic range, and linearity needed for quantitative blot analysis. Get the best picture every time, and stop wasting money on film! UV, color imaging, blue-excited DNA dyes, Coomassie gel imaging, and more a total solution for Western blot imaging and gel documentation.

The Azure 500 is a multichannel, multimodal fluorescent imager, with IR, visible light, and UV excitation channels. Image and quantify two different targets in the same position more efficiently using Near-Infrared (NIR), and normalize to fluorescent total protein stain or a housekeeping protein in the green channel without needing to strip and re-probe your Western blots.

Two NIR fluorescence channels and laser diodes at 685nm and 784nm offer better sensitivity than LEDs or white light sources for Western Blot.

The Azure 500 enables sensitive multiplex Western blotting with minimal background through two-channel NIR fluorescence detection. Capture images of NIR fluorescence WB in multiplex, ECL WB, biomolecules tagged with fluorescent labels in gels, fluorescent and colorimetric stains in gels, Petri dishes, TLC, etc.

Two-fold Serial Dilution

Top right is the green channel, using IR-800; top left is the image of the red channel, using IR-700. Bottom image is both channels merged.
Intuitive capture software controlled by a wide touchscreen

The Azure 500 provides high-resolution imaging that is ideal for publication purposes, as well as higher pixel well cap for higher dynamic range.

Use the preset protocols of the comprehensive list of typical detections, or generate your own custom protocols combining any excitation source, emission filter, image overlay, lens aperture, exposure time, focus, distance to the camera, and resolution.

High-resolution Imaging

A 9.1MP camera provides high resolution imaging perfect for publications. Change the sample to optics distance using adjustable height shelf for enhanced detection. Zoom into the area of interest with ROI imaging to reduce background.

The Azure Imagers are designed for capturing maximum light output from the sample. The CCD sensor is placed close to the sample in order to maximize light collection efficiency which increases sensitivity. The Azure Imager camera is also directly above the sample. Having the camera as close to the sample as possible makes way for the best light collection efficiency.

Sensitivity Signal Surpasses Film

Fast and Sensitive Chemiluminescent Detection

Sensitive Detection of Proteins with Chemiluminescent Westerns

The software on the Azure 500 notifies you when bands are saturated and are not suitable for quantitation. Outperforms film performance while generates a quantitative, wide dynamic range image. Indicates eventual signal saturation for accurate quantitation.

Figure 1. Saturation detection prevents errors in quantitation. The same Western Blot was imaged on both x-ray film and the Azure Imaging System. The Azure system detects when CCD saturation occurs and calculates an auto-exposure time to avoid saturated bands.
Chemiluminescent Imaging with Color Markers

The Azure 500 fluorescent imager provides high-resolution imaging that is ideal for publication purposes, as well as higher pixel well cap for higher dynamic range.

It gives you the option to overlay a color marker with the chemiluminescent signal for ease of documentation and molecular size determination.
